Festive wreath making - forage and create!
Building on our hugely popular wreath making workshops last year - wreath making with a twist. Our bothy workshop is located in the grounds of Glassmount House, where the foliage and berries for many a wreath have been foraged! The unique location of the bothy allows the opportunity for a beautifully immersive experience from foraging the raw materials to taking home your handmade creation.
The course will start with a guided walk through the stunning gardens and wooded areas at Glassmount, armed with secateurs and a trug bucket! The group will forage for their own mix of natural materials: holly, ivy, box, yew, teasels (Dipsacus), honesty (Lunaria), rose berries and more. From there, we make our way back to the warmth of the bothy and begin to weave our creations. The wreath frames will be woven from fresh local willow - a process you can do yourself, or have one provided to you. Whatever you create is yours to take home and hang inside or out.
The woodburning stove will be on, as always.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cake (GF) will be available.
Please bring suitable clothing and footwear; the workshop is hands-on, and the ground may be muddy underfoot as we forage.
This workshop is suitable for ages 14+. But please note, bookings for participants under 18 would need accompanied by a separate paying adult.
Please get in touch with any queries before booking.
